Origin of Borromean systems
نویسنده
چکیده
The complex energies of the three-body resonances for one infinitely heavy particle and two non-interacting light particles are the sum of the two contributing two-body complex resonance energies. The bound state of a Borromean system originates from a resonance when the third interaction is introduced, a finite mass is allowed and proper angular momentum coupling is included. The relative importance of these contributions are investigated and the resulting structure of Borromean systems are traced back to the two-body continuum properties. The 0+ and 2+ states in 6He result from neutron-core p-states and the ground and first excited state of 11Li originate from neutron-core s2 and sp-states. PACS: 21.45.+v, 31.15.Ja, 25.70.Ef

New states of matter suggested by new topological structures
We extend the well-known Borromean and Brunnian rings to new higher order versions. Then we suggest an extension of the connection between Efimov states in cold gases and Borromean and Brunnian rings to these new higher order links. This gives rise to a whole new hierarchy of possible states with Efimov states at the bottom.
متن کاملHalogen bonded Borromean networks by design: topology invariance and metric tuning in a library of multi-component systems.
A library of supramolecular anionic networks showing Borromean interpenetration has been prepared by self-assembly of crypt-222, several metal or ammonium halides, and five bis-homologous α,ω-diiodoperfluoroalkanes. Halogen bonding has driven the formation of these anionic networks. Borromean entanglement has been obtained starting from all the four used cations, all the three used anions, but ...
متن کاملA note on Borromean correlations in multipartite quantum systems
If a pure state of a multipartite quantum system is Borromean, that is, such that its density matrix becomes product after tracing out any its component then the initial state is product itself. This shows the essentially classical nature of Borromean correlations which can not be achieved by entangled pure states. A random vector (A1, . . . , An) of length N is said to be Borromean 1 correlate...
متن کاملAn Infinite Family of Convex Brunnian Links in R
This paper proves that convex Brunnian links exist for every dimension n ≥ 3 by constructing explicit examples. These examples are three-component links which are higher-dimensional generalizations of the Borromean rings. Figure 1. The Borromean Rings

Two homologues of supramolecular Borromean rings were obtained based on the halogen-bonding-driven self-assembly of iodide ions with telechelic diiodoperfluoroalkanes.
